Use ChatGPT in your browser at chatgpt.com. You’ll need an active Definely licence with access to the MCP connector and your Definely account credentials.
For administrators
Administrators can make Definely available for users to install or install it automatically.
Open Admin Console and select your ChatGPT workspace.
Open Plugins and select Definely.
Choose an Installation policy:
Setting | What it does |
Available | Users can find and install Definely themselves. |
Installed | Definely is installed automatically for eligible users. |
Check that the included Definely app is enabled and accessible.
Save or confirm your changes.
Business administrators manage availability across the workspace. Enterprise and Edu administrators can also configure access for eligible custom roles, where role controls are available.
Each user still needs to connect their own Definely account, including when the plugin is installed automatically.
For users
Open ChatGPT in your browser and select your organisation’s workspace.
Install Definely
If your administrator has already installed Definely for you, skip to Connect your Definely account
1. Click Plugins.
2. Search for Definely.
3. Click the Definely search result.
4. Click Install Plugin.
5. If installation takes you straight to Definely’s sign-in page, sign in with your Definely account and complete the authorisation prompts.
6. Return to your ChatGPT browser tab.
If Definely isn’t available in your workspace, contact your ChatGPT administrator.
Connect your Definely account
If Definely is already installed but you haven’t signed in:
Open Settings → Plugins in ChatGPT.
Select Definely.
Click Connect.
Sign in with your Definely account and complete the authorisation prompts.
Return to your ChatGPT browser tab.
You only need to complete this section if you haven’t already connected your account during installation.
Start using Definely
Start a conversation and select Definely by typing @Definely in the message box. Tell ChatGPT what you’d like to do. Please specify that you need to upload a document to Definely to ensure ChatGPT renders the correct upload control.
When prompted, choose your document in the Definely upload control. Definely uploads and prepares it for analysis.
1. Click Choose file and select your document.
2. Click Upload.
3. Continue your conversation with ChatGPT. For more information on the types of questions the Definely MCP connector can help with, see Definely's MCP Connector.
Troubleshooting
ChatGPT has started reviewing my attachment and hasn't used Definely at all
ChatGPT is only able to share documents with Definely when they're uploaded to the Definely upload control pictured above.
If you've attached your file to the chat using standard ChatGPT file upload controls like below, ChatGPT will not share this with Definely and will attempt to review the document itself.
Try repeating the question without adding your attachment to begin with. When there is nothing attached, ChatGPT should realise that it needs to provide the upload control.
