How to access Extract Changes
You can access Extract Changes in two ways:
From the Definely ribbon. Click Extract Changes in the main Definely ribbon in Microsoft Word.
From the Reference Report. Click the Export dropdown and select Extract Changes.
Both routes produce the same output, so use whichever fits your workflow best.
What gets extracted
Definely captures all of the mark-up in your document, including:
Insertions and deletions from tracked changes.
Moved text.
Comments and footnotes from reviewers.
Formatting changes.
Together, these cover the full set of edits a reviewer is likely to have left in the document, so nothing is missed when you produce the issues list.
Your exported issues list
Extract Changes generates a formatted table in a new Word document, with the following columns:
Clause Reference. The specific section or clause where the change appears.
Markup Text. The actual tracked change or deletion shown in context.
Comments. Any associated comments from the reviewer.
Your Response. A blank column for you to add your position or proposed resolution.
Client Response. A blank column for client feedback or decisions.
