Exporting definitions from the Definition Report

This article walks through how to export selected definitions to a new Word document and how to print a selection directly from the Definition Report.

The Definition Report lets you export and print selected defined terms so you can share them with colleagues or clients, or work with them outside the contract itself. You can generate an editable Word table or a print-ready format in just a few clicks.

Exporting definitions to a new Word document

You can create an editable table of your selected definitions that you can then customise, annotate or share.

  1. Select your terms. In the Definition Report, choose the defined terms you want to export by ticking the checkboxes next to each term.

  2. Click Export Selected. Definely will generate a new Word document containing a formatted table of your selected terms.

  3. Review your exported table. The exported document includes:

    • The term name.

    • The full definition.

    • The number of occurrences of that term in your agreement.

    • The locations where each term has been used.

From here you can edit the table, add commentary, or share it directly with your team or your client.

Printing selected defined terms

If you'd rather take a printed copy into a meeting or document review, you can generate a print-ready version of your selected definitions instead.

  1. Select the terms you want to print. Choose the defined terms you need by selecting them in the Definition Report.

  2. Generate a print preview. Click the print option to create a formatted preview of your selected terms.

  3. Print immediately. From the print preview you can send the definitions straight to your printer, ideal for quick reference during meetings or document reviews.
