What's new — 23rd June 2026

This article covers updates released after the June 9th launch (v3.3.0 through v3.13.0, 9–18 June 2026).

Highlights

Read tab — Draft renamed

The "Draft" tab has been renamed to "Read". The name better reflects what the tab actually does — reading the document to surface defined terms, undefined terms, and cross-reference issues — as distinct from active drafting work. No change to functionality.

Proof — Scan progress shown inline

The full-screen overlay that blocked the panel during a Proof scan has been replaced with an inline loading indicator on the Scan button itself. The rest of the panel stays accessible while scanning.

Vault — insert without Track Changes

When inserting a clause or definition from Vault, you can now choose to insert without Track Changes. The content is inserted clean, without appearing as a tracked insertion in the document. Useful when populating precedent language that does not need to show as a redline.

Cascade — read/unread indicator on affected locations

Affected locations in a Cascade analysis now show a dot indicator until they have been opened and reviewed. The dot clears automatically when the location is expanded. Useful for keeping track of which changes you have already assessed in large analyses — a feature requested directly by pilot users.

Cascade — analysis timeout warning

Cascade now warns users when an analysis is taking longer than expected. After 80 seconds, a warning appears with the option to cancel. Previously, slow analyses ran silently until they timed out with no indication of progress or the ability to abort.

Fix: Windows freeze on heavily redlined documents

Resolved a critical issue where Word would freeze on Windows when Definely processed documents containing a large number of tracked deletions. If you experienced Word becoming unresponsive while working on a heavily marked-up document, this has been fixed.
