Highlights
Read — Follow defined terms through linked documents
You can now follow a defined term all the way through a linked document. Previously, if a term in your document resolved to a definition in a linked agreement, any defined terms inside that definition were a dead end — you had to go and find them yourself. Those nested terms are now highlighted and clickable, so you can trace a full chain of definitions across linked documents without leaving the panel.
Proof — Cross-references now pick up sub-numbered lists
The cross-reference tool now picks up sub-numbered list items such as (a) and (b), not just clause-level numbering like 3.1. Previously you had to fall back to Word's own cross-referencing tool to reach those sub-items — you can now insert and correct references at any level from within Definely.
Proof — Fix All for Defined Term Capitalisation no longer duplicates text
Fix All on Defined Term Capitalisation no longer leaves duplicated text in your document. Where two defined terms overlapped — for example "Works" inside "Outstanding Works" — applying all fixes at once could double up the wording. Overlapping matches are now resolved correctly, so Fix All is safe to use across a full document.
Read — Linked documents and uploads are now session-only
Linked documents and uploads now last for your current session rather than being remembered between sessions. This fixes a problem where documents appeared to still be linked days later but quietly stopped returning definitions. You will need to re-link documents when you next open your file.
Vault — Definitions insert without duplicated wording
Definitions inserted from Vault now come through exactly as they appear in the source document. Previously the term name and "means" were added in front of a paragraph that already included them, so you had to delete the duplicated opening by hand on every insertion.
Vault — A progress message while a new user's data is prepared
New Vault users now see a clear progress message while their document permissions are being prepared, instead of an empty results page. This particularly matters when a firm expands Vault to more people after a successful trial — newly added users used to see no results at all until the next full ingestion, which looked like a fault rather than a short wait.
Scan from anywhere in the add-in
You can now trigger a document scan from anywhere in the add-in. The Scan button has been added to Read, Vault, Enhance and Cascade, so you no longer need to switch to Proof to rescan after editing your document.
Download a bug report when something goes wrong
If something goes wrong, you can now download a bug report directly from the crash screen or from Settings. It captures your Word version, platform, add-in version and a trace ID, so attaching it to a support ticket gives our team what they need to diagnose the problem without a lengthy back-and-forth.
