What's new — 7th October 2026

This article covers updates between 29 September 2026 and 7 October 2026 (v3.55 to v3.57). It also covers three features that are now available to everyone: Reincorporate Reference Reports, Text Edits by Enhance, and Term Sheet comparison in Enhance.

Highlights

Reincorporate Reference Reports

You could already export a section of a document from the Reference Report, along with its associated definitions, to share with a colleague without exposing the whole document. You can now edit that exported document and import it back. Your changes go into the original as tracked changes, clause by clause, and tables, images and formatting in your edited clauses come back intact.

Text Edits by Enhance

Last week, Enhance started proposing new text as cards you approve before anything changes. It can now edit and delete existing wording in the same way. Redlines show only the words that change, so a three-word amendment reads as three words rather than a struck-through paragraph. Amending a parent clause leaves its sub-clauses untouched.

Check a draft against the term sheet

Enhance can now check a working agreement against your client's term sheet. Link the term sheet to the agreement, choose Flag where the agreement fails to conform to a linked term sheet (available as a template prompt, or if you ask for it in natural language), and Enhance returns a structured report of every place the draft departs from what was agreed.

Findings are ordered by how firmly the term sheet fixed each point. Prescribed terms come first, then directional terms, then points where the term sheet was ambiguous and the agreement has filled the gap. Each finding quotes both documents, with a reference you can use to find the passage. The report uses the same format as Compare against Standard Form, so if you've used that, you already know how to read it.

Fix or hide a whole Proof category in one step

You can now fix or hide every issue in a category straight from the category card, without entering Select mode first.

Read

Reincorporate Reference Reports: exporting

  • Exporting clauses from the Reference Report opens a full-height Exporting clauses sheet instead of a plain progress dialog.

  • The sheet explains the next steps: edit the exported document in Word, save it, then import it.

Reincorporate Reference Reports: importing

  • Importing an edited export matches each clause back to its place in the original document and applies your edits as tracked changes.

  • Edited clauses are applied using Word's own document format, so tables, images and formatting are carried back into the original.

  • If one clause can't be applied, the others still go through, and you're told which one failed.

  • Definely checks that the file you import was exported from the current document's Reference Report.

  • Dropping more than one file into the import shows an error asking you to choose one file.

  • A fully successful import closes the sheet automatically and confirms with a toast, "Changes added as tracked changes". Partial, no-change and failed imports still show a results screen.

  • After an import, the document rescans automatically, without showing the "paragraphing has changed, please rescan" prompt.

  • Clause identifiers that use roman numerals are matched correctly on import.

  • You can add a new paragraph or sub-clause inside an exported clause (for example a new 2.1(e) after 2.1(d)), and it is inserted on its own, leaving the following paragraphs untouched.

  • The first time you open the Reference Report after the release, an onboarding screen introduces Reincorporate. It shows up to three times, with Don't show this again ticked by default.

Reports

  • A stray click while a report is being exported no longer cancels it. Previously, an export such as Explain changes could look as though it was running and then produce no document.

  • Extract Changes, Gaps List and Export now work when you run them again in the same session, including when earlier reports are still open. Previously, the second run failed silently and no document was created.

Linked documents

  • For a definition that comes from a linked document, Go To and the occurrence navigation are disabled, because Definely can't take you into a different document. Previously, Go To could take you to the wrong place in the current document.

Proof

  • Fix all and Hide all for a category are available from the category card without entering Select mode.

  • Category cards show a dot when a category has issues, instead of an issue count.

Enhance

Term Sheet comparison

  • A ready-made prompt, Flag where the agreement fails to conform to a linked term sheet, compares the agreement you're working on against a linked term sheet.

  • To use it, open the term sheet and run a Definely scan, open Enhance on the agreement, link the term sheet, then choose the prompt.

  • The report lists departures in three groups:

    • Prescribed term issues: the term sheet fixed the point and the agreement deviates from it.

    • Directional term issues: the term sheet set a direction and the agreement departs from it materially.

    • Ambiguous term issues: the term sheet was vague or incomplete and the agreement has added a clarification worth reviewing.

  • Each finding quotes both documents and gives a reference to the passage.

  • Both the agreement and the term sheet need to be Word documents.

  • You can still ask Enhance about a term sheet in your own words. The ready-made prompt is a shortcut, not a replacement.

Text Edits

  • Enhance can now change and delete existing wording, not just insert new text. Each proposal appears as a card with a redline, and nothing is written to the document until you accept.

  • Removing or adding a few words redlines only those words. Previously, the whole paragraph was deleted and reinserted.

  • Deletions show as a single struck-through range.

  • Amending a parent clause leaves its sub-clauses intact.

  • If you edit a clause yourself while an Enhance card for it is waiting, the card is marked unavailable. Previously, it still offered to apply, then failed with "Failed to update the document. Please try again."

  • The first time you use Enhance after the release, an onboarding screen introduces text edits. It shows up to three times unless you choose Don't show this again.

Vault

  • If you aren't signed in to your document management system, Vault no longer blocks the tab with a sign-in screen. You can carry on searching, and an alert names your document management system and lets you sign in from Settings.

  • AI Search, our upcoming natural-language search for Vault, will only appear for firms licensed for both Vault and Enhance. If your firm has Vault without Enhance, Vault search keeps working exactly as it does today, and no AI features are turned on.
